Show and Tell isn't just for kids! So many of us have items or collections that we would love to share with others. Register to share with us or just to observe what everyone else is bringing in.
Registration Required
Rediscover the joy of sharing something you love with others at the library. Show and Tell for Grown-Ups is meant to celebrate all of the wonderful and unique items and collections that are important to us and give us all an opportunity to share them with others. Perhaps you have a piece of history to show others or a collection that's worth talking about. Or maybe you have a family heirloom or something that holds a special place in your heart that you want to share. All of these are great reasons to attend! Each participant will get a maximum of 10 minutes to talk about what they brought in and to take questions.
Registration is open for both Sharers and Observers. You do not need to bring something to attend.
Items being shared are subject to prior approval. We cannot permit live animals, weapons, items that could be dangerous or are illegal, explicit content, or anything that may violate library policy. Please be sure that you will be able to transport whatever you plan to share to our lower level programming rooms on your own as there will not be extra assistance available. If your item is too large or fragile to be brought in, feel free to bring an image instead. Please inform us during registration if you will be using an image so that we can obtain a digital copy from you to make visible on the day of.
Location: Austin and Sugarloaf Lake Rooms, found on the lower-level. Stairs and elevators are available.
Registration Process: When registering, you will be asked if you are planning on sharing an item or not. Please be sure to answer this question and to fill out the second question regarding what you will be bringing in if you are planning to share something. If the program is full, please join the waitlist. There will be a limit of how many people are able to share, but not for audience members. As people register, it may be that we will be able to increase capacity and we will do so via the waitlist in the order that people registered. If the waitlist is full, check back often to see if a spot has opened up.
All participants are welcome. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact Sara Weyenberg at sweyenberg@portagelibrary.info or (269) 585-8710 in advance of your visit.
