Create Art using Light

Makerspace Staff Member Haley Labian will show you how to create Sun Art Prints using cyanotype.

In order to make sure that as many people as possible enjoy the programs in our Makerspace, we are setting a limit of one program per month per registrant for Makerspace programs.

Create Stunning Cyanotype Sun Prints

September is the perfect time to explore the beautiful art of cyanotype sun printing as the weather begins to get nicer! In this class, you’ll learn how to use light-sensitive materials and natural sunlight to create unique, botanical-inspired prints

What You’ll Do:

• Compose your design using objects like leaves, flowers, or stencils (feel free to bring your own).
• Expose your art to sun using cyanotype paper.
• Rinse your creation to reveal stunning blue tones.
• Most prints will be completed during the class, but some may need additional drying time and can be picked up later.

What to Bring:

If you have specific objects you'd like to include in your design (like small plants or flat items), bring them along! We’ll also have materials available for use during the session.

Attendee slots are limited due to space and equipment limitations. If you register and are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as soon as possible to allow other patrons a chance to sign up. Please do not sign up for duplicate programs. If you do sign up for duplicate programs, you will be contacted and asked to choose one.
