This year's Library of Michigan 2024 Michigan Notable Books Author Tour highlights 13 authors whose engaging works were chosen as the 2024 Michigan Notable Books. This program with Erin Bartels, author of The Lady with the Dark Hair, is one of 50 sites with an author visit scheduled throughout the state.

Located near the intersection of S. Westnedge and Shaver Rd, Portage District Library offers ample parking, access to the Portage Bikeway, and is adjacent to Veterans Memorial Park.

The library offers a wide range of services and resources for community members, including dedicated areas for children, teens, and adults, as well as meeting rooms available for public use.

EV charging is also available at the library, with additional stations located nearby at Portage City Hall and Portage Zhang Senior Center.
