Join our Maker-in-Residence Anna Barnhart as she shows you how to use recycled book pages to make your very own collage art.
Registration Required
In order to make sure that as many people as possible enjoy the programs in our Makerspace, we are setting a limit of one program per month per registrant for Makerspace programs.
Reuse the wonderful texture of pre-loved books that need a new life! Using the staining power of acrylic paint, we will make textured sheets to create a lovely landscape or floral collage to embellish. You'll leave with an 8x10 paper collage to take home and frame. Working with paper collage is a great way to focus on values in a composition, loosen up, and ditch the paint brush! All skill levels welcome and all supplies included.
Our Maker-in-Residence Anna Barnhardt is an artist from Southwest Michigan. You'll find Anna Barnhart's work by the thick texture and colorful illustrations created with versatile acrylic paint. Her nature-inspired artwork can be seen in art fairs, her website, YouTube channel, or at the occasional farmer's market and craft fair.
All participants are welcome. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact Jane Fleming at jfleming@portagelibrary.info in advance of your visit.
